This safari takes you through four of Tanzania’s most iconic destinations: Tarangire National Park, Ndutu, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater. Experience breathtaking landscapes, encounter diverse wildlife, and witness the Great Migration in Ndutu. June to October, the Serengeti Great Migration Safari is one of the most famous wildlife experiences in the world. Every year, millions of animals, particularly wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, participate in the Great Migration through the Serengeti National Park. It’s a spectacular and dynamic journey, driven by the search for fresh grazing and water, which offers some of the most incredible wildlife sightings on Earth. A journey you will never forget.
Detailed Itinerary
Day by day through Tanzania's finest
Day 1 - Arrival day
Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be greeted with a warm welcome by our driver and transferred to your accommodation. If you arrive in the morning or afternoon, you will head straight your accommodation near Tarangire National Park. If your flight arrives in the evening, you will stay overnight in Arusha and begin your safari adventure the following day.
Day 2 - Tarangire National Park
Your adventure begins at around 8:00 AM when we pick you up from your accommodation. We’ll head to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. Famous for its baobab trees and large elephant herds, this park is home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, and many more. After a day of exploring, you’ll return to your for dinner and a relaxing night.
Day 3 - Ndutu, South Serengeti
After breakfast, we depart for the Ndutu region. The drive takes around 3 hours, during which you’ll notice a shift from forested hills to grassy plains. Upon arrival, enjoy game drives in Ndutu, where you’ll have the chance to witness the Great Migration. During the migration season, the area becomes a calving ground for wildebeests and other grazers, attracting predators like lions and cheetahs. You’ll spend the evening at your accommodation, with dinner awaiting you.
Day 4 - Ndutu to Central Serengeti
After breakfast, we journey to the iconic Serengeti National Park, famous for its endless plains and abundant wildlife. We’ll spend the day on game drives, searching for the “Big 5” – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino – as well as impalas, gazelles, and more. A picnic lunch will be provided during the drive. You’ll spend the night in a lodge or camp in Central Serengeti.
Day 5 - Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
We start with a morning game drive in Central Serengeti, then head toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a picnic lunch. Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest volcanic caldera, home to thousands of animals. Your day ends with dinner and a night’s rest at your accommodation near Ngorongoro Crater.
Day 6 - Ngorongoro Crater
Early in the morning, we descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a 5-6-hour game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers a chance to spot elephants, lions, black rhinos, hippos, and more. After a picnic lunch by the Hippo Pool, we’ll ascend and begin the 3 – 4-hour drive back to Arusha, where you’ll arrive in the evening at your hotel for overnight or drop off at Kilimanjaro International Airport.
Day 7 - Flight home
If your flight leaves later, you can enjoy a calm final morning at the hotel. Relax in the garden, have a last coffee or tea, take a swim, or simply unwind and look back on your trip. When it’s time to go, your driver will bring you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your journey home.
